Investigating, Analyzing, and Using Data to Reform Academic Advising Seminar
"Without data you're just another person with an opinion." W. Edwards Deming, Data Scientist
Improving student success, retention, and persistence to graduation is in the forefront of all institutions globally. Recognizing the integral role academic advising, institutions of all type, sizes, and missions are working to improve the academic advising experiences of students and the academic advising offered across the institution. However, many changes, revisions, or enhancements are often done with little to no data - often based on a "best practice" from another institution without any data to support its succes on your campus.
This seminar, using the Drive to Degree survey data as a framework as well as other data resources will provide discussions, successful examples of data use, and hands-on development of strategies to make significant changes in your academic advising program - changes based on data.
